How many living horses have AQHA legends like Joe Reed II or the 1950 AQHA race horse of the year Johnny Dial on their papers? This mare does along with being sired by a AAA stakes winner; Dial Reed. "Hawk" is a grullo mare that was foaled in 1997.  She is an own daugter of Chip Merrit's good stud Wyo Blue Bonnet out of a Plenty Try daughter; Plenty Red Hawk. She is just shy of 18% Texas Blue Bonnet, and  foaled a nice grullo/grulla roan stud colt by Plenty Blue Bonnet this year. Click here for WYO BLUE HAWK's Breeding.

"WYO AMBROSE" (Ambrose).

Wyo ambrose is a grullo daughter of Ambrose Sue 30  by Wyo Blue Bonnet.  She is a maternal half sister to Roan Ambrose.  With Plenty Coup and Texas Blue Bonnet (TBB) on her papers, and several other crosses to TBB in her pedigree making her one of the higher percentage TBB mares alive at just under 20%.  Ambrose Sue 30 was the last daughter of Plenty Coup, and this mare was her last foal.  It has been said that the Hayes felt Ambrose Sue 30 was the best mare they raised.   Click here for WYO AMBROSE's Breeding.


"Funny" had the misfortune of losing her left eye when she was a yearling but it hasn't stopped her from raising really awesome babies. She is 31.25% Blue Valentine and 25% Rip Rip, and is ¾ sister to Chip Merritt’s good stud Wyo Blue Bonnet. "Mira" is a 2006 blue roan by Blue Venture Hancock out of Miras Britches, a red roan mare from the Bader Quarter Horse remuda in Thermopolis, Wyoming. Mira is a well made black nosed blue roan that has a deep heart girth, good withers, a long flowing hip, and great bone.  Mira foaled a nice grulla roan filly this year by Chucker Blue Kid, a grullo son of Leo Hancock Hayes out of Wyo Maid. "Queen" is a 2007 blue roan mare by Plenty Blue Bonnet out of the mare Cerebella doc.  This young mare is over 13% Texas Blue Bonnet and 25% Rip Rip.  She's a beautiful mover, and should really cross well with our Grullo Roan stallion for an almost 13% Texas Blue Bonnet foal.  Queen unfortunatley lost her blue roan stud colt this spring, and due to the extreme heat, we decided not to breed her back for a 2012 foal. "A MOON DRIFT" (Rhonda).

"Rhonda" is a 2008 blue roan filly by JCross Blue Moon that we purchased from Randy Dunn - Bath Brothers Ranch, Laramie, WY. Being out of a Ruano Rojo daughter, she is 34.38% Blue Valentine through four crosses with two lines to BV on her papers.  This young mare has a great disposition like all JCross Blue Moon offspring. "WYO MANDY" (Mandy).

"Mandy" is a 2008 bay roan filly that is by Blue Apache Hancock and out of a Plenty Try daughter; Mandy's Fox.  The Apache cross on Plenty Try daughters has produced many nice broodmares and stallions with the bone and the size hancocks are revered for.    Click here for MANDY's Breeding.

 "JOSEYS ROJO" (Josey)

"Josey" is a 2009 bay roan filly by the deceased Kesa Quarter Horses' stallion Rojo Valentine.  She is out of a really good Blues Beard daughter Blues Joseywood that is as stout as they come.  Josey has five crosses to Blue Valentine and two crosses to Driftwood which makes her 35 % blue valentine.  She is an outstanding filly!
